Take, Begemoth.
"Grand toys", which includes distributor, retail chain Behemoth and franchise stores Behemoth. Revenue in 2009 ~3.5 billion rubles.
This is a slide from presentation i shared yesterday. Looks attractive?

That reminds me of the article I've read recently.
Kommersant №6 (298), 07.06.2010
I'll translate a few passages:
The company met crisis with a high debt ratio. Bankruptcy Banana-Mama (85 stores) undermined the confidence of the industry investors. By the end of 2008, they called on Grand Toys repay debts. The company had to use floating capital as repainment & minimize stock. Shelves went empty and most of the clients switched to rivals. Grand Toys was on its last legs.
Crisis management franchise
According to the Head of the Department of franchise development "Deloshop" Nina Semina: "In 2009 we noticed a jump in demand for a franchise with a minimum investment (up to 1 mln rub) from people who lost their jobs and businesses that decided to change the scope of activity. Behemoth offered very attractive terms, besides "children's" segment was in demand".
In September 2009 Sergei Kiselev (SEO) sold a "small" Grand Toys' share to Volga River Growth Fund (contract value: 200 mln rub).
Sales returned to the pre-crisis level at the beginning of 2010. Grand Toys payd 40% of total dept.
Extremeskiing...
